Can You Grow Out Of Autism As You Get Older?

I have a uncle who is autistic and he's very intelligent in spelling reading writing, he's excellent at math and history. when he was a child he was very slow and made weird sounds and did strange things, I'm not sure if this is part of his illness now & I'm not sure if this helps but he seems to read a lot on the internet about games, he talks about games all the time it's not even funny! he's been playing games ever since he was a child he's 16 now, and one thing he has trouble with now is respect. will my uncle jaime grow out of autism completely in a couple more years or more?
